Running a primary school library

A very popular course for teachers, literacy coordinators, teaching assistants and anyone who has been given responsibility for the primary school library and has little or no prior library experience. The course explores the aims and functions of school libraries and practical strategies for running them successfully.

Anne always adapts this course to local circumstances.

Expected learning outcomes:

  • more understanding of the role of the library and its relationship to the curriculum
  • input into library policy and plans
  • methods for supporting pupils’ learning, reading and library skills
  • knowledge of resource acquisition and classification
