A valuable course for teachers and support staff who want to develop their school library. The course examines effective library policy and ways to maximise the value of the library to the school. It is very practical, with opportunities throughout to explore areas of concern, and is accompanied by an extensive set of back-up material.
Anne is very happy to adapt this course to meet local needs.
Expected learning outcomes:
This is a stand-alone course, but has also been designed as the second of a two-part training programme. It complements Primary school libraries: getting started.
The course has been brilliant. Felt overwhelmed and isolated before. Now feel as though doors have been opened and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Lots of ideas for action to develop the library’s impact and place within the school. (Several years’ worth of ideas to prioritise and plan for!)
Very informative and enjoyable session. Will take away lots of ideas and suggestions. Can’t wait to get into the library tomorrow.
Brilliant day! Excellent information on role/use of library. Information on policy and planning very useful.
This was an excellent course. Anne gave us wonderful ideas and suggestions on how to run and improve a primary school library. The course made me reflect on my school library and how it can be developed.
A very informative day. I’m taking away so many ideas on how to make our new library the ‘place to be seen’ in the school.
I’ve been running the school library for a few years now but have not yet drawn up a library policy document. Now feel more confident and equipped to give it a go.
Wonderful! Very entertaining, gave me so many ideas and a renewed enthusiasm to go forth and promote our library.
A thoroughly thought provoking and inspiring day! Has equipped me with lots of ideas and determination.
Have gone away inspired and enthused.
