Booktime

Booktime is a national programme run by the independent charity Booktrust, supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and education and publishing company Pearson. Through the programme, every reception-aged child in the UK receives a pack containing one or two free books and guidance for their parents and carers on sharing books with children.

Anne's Booktime training explores ways to exploit the Booktime initiative and to encourage a love of books and reading among young children. It is suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, family liaison officers and library staff.

Anne is happy to adapt this course to a variety of training situations.

Participants can expect to gain:

  • practical methods for promoting enjoyment of books, reading and libraries
  • activities to encourage reading and pre-reading skills
  • more knowledge of appropriate books and extra strategies for using them effectively
  • new ideas for supporting parents and carers and for family literacy

Delegates on the course receive a comprehensive information pack.
