Training on children and libraries

I loved giving training yesterday for Idea Store staff in Tower Hamlets. This was the first of five courses which will between them reach all Idea Store staff on working effectively with children from birth to eleven. The delegates were fantastic. Some had worked for Tower Hamlets Idea Store and Library Service for years, others were in their first week. All shared a huge degree of commitment and excitement about provision for children and families. The discussions were excellent. So many great ideas were aired for improving the already impressive Idea Store offer to children. We particularly focused on ways to make reading attractive and enjoyable. I’m really looking forward to all the other courses.
